At its peak, Chile's avocado exports reached 155,000 metric tons in Marketing Year (MY) 2018. 


Elaboration: 
  • The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service predicted that Chilean avocado exports would reach 155,000 metric tons in MY 2018. 

  • This peak was expected to be a significant increase from 90,985 metric tons exported in the first nine months of 2017. 

  • Chile's avocado exports have seen substantial growth, with a 42.9% increase in volume and 61.7% increase in value from January to September 2017 compared to the same period in 2016.
